Ondanks de enorme uitdagingen hebben we ervoor gekozen om met een kleine crew de barre maar prachtige waterlandschappen te vangen. Hierdoor konden de cast, crew en het verhaal een verbinding aangaan met de natuur, en zo een tastbaar toekomstbeeld visualiseren. Hoewel Fenna door dit overstroomde landschap reist, gaat de kern van haar verhaal juist om een menselijker aspect. Want in een tijd waarin de wereld voor enorme uitdagingen staat, lijkt het alsof mensen steeds minder naar elkaar omkijken. Wat betekent verbondenheid nog in een wereld waarin alles verloren lijkt? Voor mij ligt deze vraag ten grondslag aan Fenna's veranderende kijk op wat ‘thuis’ nog betekent als er niemand meer over is.
